Meet the Artist: Zita (Z)
Zita (Z.) Day (they/them) is a San Francisco-based abstract artist and painter whose work explores layered acrylic medium on canvas.
Day communicates personal experiences and stories through playful brush strokes of vibrant and fluorescent color. Inspired by their sister Ariel Gold’s work, Day’s most notable collection is a continuation of her legacy: Gold’s Brush Strokes.
After earning a B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of Tennessee Knoxville, Day studied under Gold and offers an innovative approach to contemporary abstract art with an emphasis on the intersection of textural sensation and perception, color theory, and color psychology.
Recurrent themes of family, city life, and Queer experiences are present throughout their work. Join Z. Day as their creativity evolves.
